Where can a Swiss go on vacation in the middle of the second Corona wave (mid to late September)? Many countries had put Switzerland on the risk list - for example Norway.
With our travel behavior, mainly wild camping in nature and yet a few days of self-sufficiency, we can indeed complete a quarantine - but the authorities prefer to see a permanent residence / hotel - and not a rolling home.
Sweden, with its more relaxed approach to Corona, got on our radar pretty quickly. A country would probably only have come into consideration for us in a few years.
A country that grants the subject of wildcaming through the public rights, offers more slopes than really off-road - for us it was more of a travel destination, which we would have traveled to as pensioners with a mobile home or caravan.
As unrational as such assessments may be, it already shows that neighboring Norway would have been an issue, even without Corona.
The plan came about practically overnight and thanks to the good tips from the Womobox and Offroad Forum, we wanted to limit ourselves to the southern half for the time being. We both travel in a very landscape-related way and alone could have come up with the idea of taking a train to northern Sweden - and then taking a leisurely ride back.
We reached Helsinborg on the second day via stopover in the Lüneburg Heath. With Brummie you can unwind 800km even with MT tires. Since you don't notice the tires that much on the inside, we often caught ourselves on the AB at 160km / h, values that you shouldn't aim for with MT tires.
For us it was nice to escape the rest of the European mask requirement, distance and hand disinfection - nice and relaxed ... The nature is beautiful, and mostly only very sparsely populated. Wild camping is usually very relaxed. The people are very friendly, very reserved and you are left alone.
You won't find any real off-road in Sweden, but beautiful and high-performance slopes and definitely more unpaved tracks. Usually the trickier slopes find me, this time Wikiloc had to make sure that at least the barriers were used.
We can only judge the southern half of Sweden, further north could be more challenging.

Has our assessment of Sweden come true?
I think so. There is hardly a country that can be traveled more relaxed, carefree and without planning - perfect for me as an elderly pensioner, when I no longer want to argue with the race management about my wild camp space, when beautiful slopes invite you to glide quietly in a pompous motorhome.
Nature always has a beautifully paved hiking trail ready and even the national parks are wheelchair accessible. The food is good, Montesuma's vengeance is a long way off - people react relaxed even if you drive down a one-way street when you are senile or on the wrong side of the street - you won't even hear a horn.
And the country is beautiful, the nature is fantastic and the more poisonous or aggressive animals are rare. This does not apply to the snake pictured above - the exception proves the rule.
